The Rayburn House office building flooded Tuesday during severe thunderstorms that covered much of the Washington, D.C., area.
Although the widespread flooding happened during the thunderstorms, the Office of the Architect officially stated that a leaking water line was responsible for the flooding.

The water then started to come in through the ceiling, forcing janitors to use trash cans to collect it.

The Office of the Architect stated that the majority of the flooding was restricted to the hallways, leaving most offices safe from the deluge.
