“Star Trek” actor Anton Yelchin’s parents will file a wrongful death lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler after their son was killed in a freak car accident, Variety reports.

On Monday, the attorney for the Yelchin’s parents announced the suit will also include Auto Nation and ZF North America. Yelchin was crushed by his own vehicle in the driveway of his home. (RELATED: ‘Star Trek’ Star Dead At 27 Following Car Accident)

The actor best known for his role in the sci-fi movie as Chekov was killed after he put his car in park and exited his car. He was crushed by his Jeep when he was pinned against the mailbox and a security gate. (RELATED: The Car That Killed ‘Star Trek’ Actor Had Been Recalled For Gear Defect)

The actor’s Jeep was part of a recall earlier in the year for what was known as a “rollaway risk.” The recall statement read, “Drivers thinking that their vehicle’s transmission is in the Park position may be struck by the vehicle and injured if they attempt to get out of the vehicle while the engine is running and the parking brake is not engaged,” according to the National Highway And Traffic Safety Administration.

There are close to 700 complaints over the same issue, including more than 260 accidents and 68 of those have involved injuries.
