CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield is sans glasses this week.
Mediaite got to the bottom of why: she had Refractive Lens Exchange surgery while on vacation. It’s the first time in two decades that she’s been able to function without wearing her signature glasses.
The surgery essentially replaces your natural lens with an artificial lens, making it possible to go without reading glasses or bifocals.
But was it really such a good thing?
“I think I like her better with the glasses,” a straight male Washington journalist told The Mirror.
“I prefer the glasses,” said another.
“She looks younger without the glasses,” said yet another. “With the glasses she looks like a mom.”
