The Republican National Committee (RNC) slammed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for her Supreme Court shortlist, alleging her choices will limit American’s religious liberties.

In the wake of the death of  Justice Antonin Scalia, the next president will select at least one nominee. That leaves many Republicans concerned a more liberal judge will be selected to fill the shoes of the staunch conservative.

“Hillary Clinton’s record shows she would choose a liberal judge was opposed to religious freedom,” College Republican National Committee National Executive Director Gustavo Portela said in the 45-second clip released in both Spanish and English, as part of the RNC’s Hispanic outreach initiative. “Hillary wants to limit your rights as a business owner to make decisions based on your beliefs shall stack the supreme court with Supreme Court justices who won’t fight for the most basic right the right-to-life.”

WATCH:

President Barack Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, sits at the top of Clinton’s list of potential choices, if elected. Top GOP senators have been adamant they do not want to hold a nomination hearing until a new president is elected, arguing the voters should have a say in who is selected to sit on the high court.

Several top Republicans, even a few hesitant to support Republican nominee Donald Trump, praised him for his list of potential nominees, which included Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado, Raymond Gruender of Missouri, Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas.

“Donald Trump understands that individual religious freedoms are enshrined in our Constitution and must be defended at all levels,” Portela continued. “People of faith don’t leave their religion in their church pews we live it wherever we are, yes I’m for trial”

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus concurred with Portela, stressing he believes Clinton’s picks will take the country in the wrong direction.

“A Hillary Clinton presidency will harm the cause of religious liberty and put our constitutional rights in danger,” Priebus said in a statement. “Her hope is to stack the Supreme Court with justices who will impose an agenda that is far too extreme for the American people.”
