LAS VEGAS — The final debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Wednesday will cover six topics, the Commission on Presidential Debates says.
These issues are debt entitlements, immigration, the economy, the Supreme Court, foreign hot spots, and fitness to be president. The debate’s moderator, Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace, determined these topics.
Clinton, whose tax proposal has been criticized for containing one trillion dollars worth of tax hikes over ten years, may likely have to answer for some of her own campaign pledges, which include not to raise taxes on any American making less than $250,000.
Donald Trump’s tax proposal, described by Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist as “revenue neutral,” looks to repeal the estate tax and other taxes. Wallace may ask Trump how he intends to transition those in the Obamacare exchanges, if his plan is to simply throw out Obamacare.
The immigration issue will be controversial for both candidates, as Clinton may have to explain how she expects the American worker to be fine with losing a job to a foreign worker on American soil but willing to punish American companies who go overseas who replace American jobs with foreign workers on foreign soil.
Trump will likely have to answer for past statements at campaign rallies he has made about illegal immigrants, particularly those from Mexico. Additionally, Trump may also be asked for further details about how he plans to force Mexico to pay for the southern border wall, which Mexico’s president said his country has no plans to comply with.
Both Clinton and Trump may be asked about how they view the power of the Supreme Court and if certain decisions of the court could be deemed as activist in nature. Additionally, the candidates could also be asked to discuss the names and types of jurists they would want to see on the high court.
The Middle East, North Korea, and Russia are also strong possibilities of places that will be discussed in terms of foreign hot spots.
