An e-mail exchange between Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and Hillary for America communications staffer Kristina Schake led to Podesta apparently getting exasperated with Clinton.

An August 7, 2015 online communication that appeared on WikiLeaks as a result of a reported hack of Podesta’s Gmail account shows Podesta saying to Schake, “Getting a little tired of Chelsea’s Mom.”

Schake responded, “I changed the Keystone call to 5 pm est. I’m so sorry – I think I misheard you. I can try to gather everyone now if this is the only time that works for you.”

Others email conversations among Clinton’s circle involving The Keystone Pipeline related to how she would be able to shift her position on the issue. One hour after Podesta made his comment to Schake, another email chain on the issue came up.

Dan Schwerin, presently Clinton’s director of speech writing, offered suggestions on how she could explain her new stance on the matter.

“We are trying to find a good way to leak her opposition to the pipeline without her having to actually say it and give up her principled stand about not second-guessing the president in public,” Schwerin wrote.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook responded, “We could even have her come out against Keystone on Monday as well (not sure where that stands), which will solicit criticism but that might help distract from emails.”
