A political commentator referred to President Donald Trump’s inaugural address as a “primal scream” Friday.

“Donald Trump’s speech was not an inaugural address. It was a primal scream aimed at Washington, D.C.,” Scarborough tweeted after Trump’s speech.

Trump seemed to direct some of his speech to those in Washington, D.C. Speaking to the crowd, Trump vowed to give power back to the American people.

“Because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one party to another — but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People,” Trump declared.

Trump took more shots at the Washington establishment, pointing out that they had flourished while the American people suffered.

“The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land,” Trump said during his address.
