The Islamic State reports that a detachment of ISIS fighters carried out the attacks in London.
Terrorists affiliated with the extremist network were behind the attack that killed seven and injured 48 Saturday night, the Amaq News Agency, an official ISIS channel, revealed, citing security sources.

Amaq is often the first to carry ISIS claims in the wake of violent extremism.
Three armed men slammed a van into a cluster of pedestrians on the London Bridge late Saturday. From there, they proceeded to Borough Market, where they stabbed people indiscriminately. An eyewitness reported that the attackers shouted “this is for Allah” as they launched their attack.
Authorities shot and killed the men, letting loose an “unprecedented number of rounds” into the suspects. The men were wearing what police thought were suicide belts. The belts turned out to be fake and were simply designed to spread panic and fear.
Police have arrested around a dozen suspects, and the investigation into the attacks is ongoing.
