RuPaul dismissed President Donald Trump’s “make America great again” mantra as nothing more than a plan to “go back in time to when we didn’t have to evolve.”

“We live on a planet of polar opposites: black, white, male, female, gay, straight. So the pendulum swings. It swings,” the 56-year-old drag queen explained in a Hollywood Reporter interview published Wednesday.

He had been asked if his show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was a product of the Barack Obama era. (RELATED: RuPaul On Terror Attack: It’s A ‘Huge Wake-Up Call’)

“I think that the Trump administration has come to represent the resistance to moving forward,” he added. “That’s what the code words ‘make America great again’ are really saying. Let’s go back in time to when we didn’t have to evolve and that we could just languish in our ignorance.”

The TV host also went after Trump over his recent military trans ban when asked about the variety of cultures Trump grew up in.

“You are assuming that he has the ability to empathize, which he does not,” Charles said. “So, yes, he could have come from a New York background where there are clubs, and different and open people, and all that — but that’s not what he was seeing. He was only seeing himself.”
