Houston Texans rookie quarterback DeShaun Watson wasted no time before proving he very well could be the answer to the franchise’s prayers.
Watson played his first preseason game Wednesday night against the Carolina Panthers, and it was a sight to behold for football fans everywhere.
The Clemson-product and national champion posted impressive numbers in his debut. He tossed for 179 yards, rushed for 24 yards on three carries, and tacked on a rushing touchdown. Anybody who watches the game tape can tell he appears more than ready to start under center for the Texans when week one rolls around.

I’ve been high on Watson ever since he started gaining traction at Clemson. It was easy to tell this guy was going to be a star. He has a big arm, he’s fast as lightning, and he just flat-out wins.
It looks like Houston’s savior might finally be in the building.
