Ivanka Trump did not hold back in her reaction Sunday to the riots in Charlottesville, Virginia that left three people dead and 19 injured in the wake of a white nationalist rally.
“There should be no place in society for racism, white supremacy and neo-nazis,” the first daughter tweeted after violence broke out at the rally between white supremacists and counter-protesters, which included members of Black Lives Matter and Antifa. On Sunday, the White House issued a statement that President Donald Trump “condemns all forms of violence, bigotry, and hatred” from all sides.
“The President said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry, and hatred. Of course that includes white supremacists, KKK Neo-Nazi and all extremist groups. He called for national unity and bringing all Americans together,” the statement read.
Melania Trump tweeted after chaos broke out in the city pleading for people to “communicate without hate” in their hearts.
“Our country encourages freedom of speech, but let’s communicate w/o hate in our hearts. No good comes from violence. #Charlottesville,” the first lady tweeted Saturday.
