Mark Wahlberg introduced the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots before they came on the field to open the NFL season Thursday night and I couldn’t help but think of the last time I saw him at a Patriots game.
Yeah, Wahlberg was at the Super Bowl in Houston and he would love for you to believe he’s the biggest Pats fan on the planet, but nothing could be further from the truth. At one point the Patriots trailed 28-3 to the Atlanta Falcons and that’s about when Wahlberg decided he couldn’t take it anymore and left the stadium. So, to say I was shocked to see the “Patriots Day” actor introduce the team he walked out on for their first game back in Gillette Stadium would be an understatement.
He stood up there in front of 70,000 plus loyal Patriots fans pretending that he watched the historic comeback that he recounted for the crowd live, but he didn’t.
You might have some people fooled, Marky Mark, but you’re not fooling me.
