Disney Announces Full Cast Of Live-Action ‘Lion King’ Reboot

Walt Disney Studios has finally announced the full cast of the highly-anticipated, “Lion King” reboot and it’s even more star-studded than expected.

Everyone knew James Earl Jones would be reprising his role as Mufasa from the 1994 original and rumor had it Donald Glover would be playing Simba, but Disney released the full cast on Wednesday with a few more notable names to get excited about.

After rumors swayed back and forth for months Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has officially joined the cast to play the role of Nala. Chiwetel Ejiofor will play the role of Scar, John Oliver is set to play Zazu, John Kani will play Rafiki, Seth Rogen is being brought on to play Pumba and Billy Eichner will be Timon.

Jon Favreau is directing the live-action remake of the classic Disney flick. It is expected to open in theaters on July 19, 2019.
