The Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s third version of the travel ban can be enforced, the Senate passed tax reform and the stock market hit record highs over the last week.

These events sound like a great seven days, but it leaves out former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s guilty plea for lying to federal officials.

The White House claimed that Flynn’s guilty plea isn’t bad news. However, Flynn is now cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller in a probe that has so far charged four former Trump campaign officials.

Trump has complained about the continued investigations into Russian election interference. Former FBI Director James Comey testified in a Senate hearing that the president asked him in a March 30 phone call to “lift the cloud” of the Russia investigation.  Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Richard Burr told The New York Times that Trump asked him to conclude his Russia probe swiftly.

The White House has publicly shown confidence regarding Mueller’s probe. “We’ve been saying from day one there has been no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said after the indictments of former Trump campaign aides Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos.

Trump, however, is media-obsessed, constantly tweeting about cable news and frequently chatting with cable news hosts. Therefore, even if Trump is not guilty of wrongdoing, he’s forced to see a frequent barrage of negative headlines.

One prominent national journalist, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told The Daily Caller, “He did have a good week, but I didn’t even notice.”
