These DNA Kits Analyze Your Genes For Traits Like Hair Loss And Metabolism, And They Are Half Off

Genetic testing kits were very popular Christmas gifts this year. Both 23andMe and AncestryDNA had deals over Thanksgiving weekend, and people took the opportunity to learn more about their family heritage. Such kits give you an exact breakdown of your ancestry, as well as a detailed analysis of your predisposition to genetic traits, such as Celiac’s, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

A company called Orig3n sells individual testing kits for different genetic traits. Twenty-one of them, in fact. And they are all half off in a one-day-only deal. For example, they have a hair test kit that gives you a rundown on your genes for graying, hair loss, hair shape and hair thickness. (As someone in the midst of losing their hair, I would like to know how long I have).

Other gene tests include fitness, which tells you “how your genes affect your metabolism, endurance, power performance, joint health, exercise recovery and muscle strength.” And nutrition, which “reveals how your body responds to food and nutrients – including food sensitivities, food breakdown, hunger and weight.” And behavior, which helps you “understand how your genes affect your feelings of empathy, your risk of addiction, or your tolerance for stress and pain.”
