Porn star Stormy Daniels has canceled her appearance on “The View” Thursday over criticism of her made by a guest host on the show last week, The Hollywood Reporter learned Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the ABC show confirmed to the Reporter that Daniels would no longer appear as planned, but would not share the reason she gave for cancelling. Daniels has been the focus of media outlets following reports of her alleged affair with Donald Trump years ago.

The cancellation is reportedly due to comments made last Friday on the show by conservative commentator S.E. Cupp. During her appearance, the ladies discussed Daniels’ upcoming appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Cupp questioned the media’s reaction to Daniels compared to how Monica Lewinsky was treated over her affair with Bill Clinton.

“Stormy Daniels, she’s cleaning up,” Cupp shared. “She’s making a ton of money. Her career is revived. She’s just playing the hand she was dealt. No problem there. What bothers me, though, in giving her this platform–you know, Monica Lewinsky was also caught having an affair with the president. Who’s going to interview her? I’d love to see someone interview her.”

On Wednesday’s show, Whoopi Goldberg hinted that the interview might not be happening and didn’t seem fazed one way or another about it.

“Stormy Daniels was supposed to be coming on ‘The View’ and we are not sure that that’s happening anymore,” Goldberg said. “But we do want to point out that S.E.[Cupp] was a guest on the show, she wasn’t a permanent co-host…she gave her opinion and that’s what this show is, we give our opinions. So, you can’t really say you’re not coming on because of that. I don’t personally care.”

Goldberg then said she would explain why she felt that way after the commercial break. When she came back, no further comment was made.
