The illegal immigrant who interrupted a courtroom with a horrific rant after being charged with murdering two California sheriff’s deputies in 2014 was sentenced to death Wednesday.

Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamontes, 37, laughed during his trial in January as a prosecutor described the events that led to the death of Sacramento sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Detective Michael Davis Jr. outside a Sacramento motel. He smiled and laughed again Tuesday as a California jury sentenced him to death, Fox News reported.

Bracamontes interrupted the courtroom on the first day of his trial to call Davis Jr.  a “coward” for retreating from the continued gunshots before he was killed.

“I wish I had killed more of the motherf**kers,” Bracamontes told the jury. “I will break out soon and I will kill more, kill whoever gets in front of me … There’s no need for a f**cking trial.”

Placer County Sheriff’s Department tweeted out their support of the court’s ruling after trial, saying they “are very grateful for the jury’s decision to sentence Luis Bracamontes to death.”

The ruling comes days after Bracamontes’ wife Janelle Monroy was sentenced to almost 50 years in prison for helping her husband commit the murders.
