The Fourth of July is a day for parading-watching, honoring the military, cooking out and shooting off fireworks, but humans aren’t the only ones who love America.

These pups display a heartwarming sense of patriotism on this important national holiday. Wednesday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, and pets and owners alike are out to commemorate the day.

Here are some dogs who are ready to celebrate the nation’s birthday:

Americans celebrate the day with parades, fireworks, stars and stripes, and plenty of hot dogs, hamburgers and coleslaw. Some towns celebrate with elaborately decorated floats, old cars and tootsie rolls thrown to squealing children. Communities on the water celebrate Independence Day with motorboat parades and decorated sailboats. (RELATED: The 50 Most Beautiful Dogs Of Washington, D.C.: Summer, ’17)

Thousands of people will travel to Washington, D.C., to see the National Mall Fourth of July Celebration, complete with pyrotechnics and music.

Canine companions — well hydrated, of course, in the nationwide heat wave — can enjoy the day too, and maybe get treated to a few bites of barbecue or corn-on-the-cob along the way.
