White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders laid into Democratic lawmakers for their ongoing handling of decades-old sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh in a Tuesday morning interview on “Fox & Friends.”
“I think the process that the Democrats have played has been absolutely appalling and disgusting,” Sanders declared, echoing President Donald Trump’s previously expressed frustrations. Trump tweeted in support of Kavanaugh late Monday:
The Democrats are working hard to destroy a wonderful man, and a man who has the potential to be one of our greatest Supreme Court Justices ever, with an array of False Accusations the likes of which have never been seen before!

Sanders continued, “They have made this a huge public circus and, frankly, hurt two different families’ lives that they will never be able to be the same because of the way that they have operated this process, and I think it’s disgusting that they have exploited these individuals and their families for their own political purposes.”
Kavanaugh will testify before the judiciary committee Thursday alongside his first accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.Dr. Christine Blasey Ford came forward in the Washington Post alleging that Kavanaugh assaulted her while he was age 17 and she was age 15, though she does not remember many key details. The people Ford alleges were at the party with Kavanaugh when he allegedly sexually assaulted her have also not confirmed her account.
Ford originally did not wish to make a public allegation and worked through private channels with Senator Dianne Feinstein. Her account surfaced after her name leaked out.
