A group of screaming protesters followed and shouted at Senator Lindsey Graham as he tried to answer a reporter’s questions following Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

“I thought what they did to Kavanaugh was despicable,” Graham told Fox News’ Peter Doocy as they walked down the hall. “I feel sorry for Dr. Ford …”

Several female protesters followed the pair, pointing at Graham and repeatedly chanting an incomprehensible slogan. At least one was holding a sign that said, “We Believe Christine Blasey Ford.”

Without turning around, Graham responded to the protesters.

“These people can yell all they want to,” said the South Carolina senator. “It doesn’t matter. I believe him. You ask me if I believe him. Absolutely I believe him. I think she by abused by the process. I think the allegations by Mr. Avenatti and people like that are despicable, and it’s all about power. It’s all about delaying. It’s all about delaying the hearing to keep the seat open. It’s not about the truth.”

Just hours ago, Graham himself provided one of the hearing’s most dramatic moments with a scathing speech blasting Democrats on the committee for propagating an “unethical sham.”

“What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020,” said Graham. “You’ve said that. Not me. You’ve got nothing to apologize for. When you see Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said ‘hello’ because I voted for them. I would never do to them what you’ve done to this guy.” (RELATED: Lindsey Graham Explodes On Senate Committee Over Confirmation Process)
