President Donald Trump tweeted out his support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh immediately following the adjournment of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday evening.
“Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him,” Trump tweeted. “His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting. Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist. The Senate must vote!”

Trump has continued to support Kavanaugh throughout the allegations, while saying that Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation against him should be heard.
As he was walking into the U.N. on Wednesday, he said, “He is a gem. He is an absolute gem and he has been treated very unfairly by the Democrats who are playing a con game. They know what they’re doing. They went into a back room and talked with each other and they laughed at what they’re getting away with. It’s a con game, and that’s what they play and about the only thing they do well.”
