The debate over allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh has ignited “anger and anxiety” among conservative white men and stoked their fears of losing power, The Washington Post reported.

“The sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh have sparked a wave of unbridled anger and anxiety from many Republican men, who say they are in danger of being swept up by false accusers who are biased against them,” the Monday article reads.

Kavanaugh’s past is currently under review by FBI investigators for the seventh time. The Senate aims to hold a final confirmation vote on his nomination sometime this week. (RELATED: Fairfield University Instructor On Race Relations: ‘Devote Some Time To The Problem That Is Whiteness‘)

The article’s authors, Robert Costa and Phillip Rucker, lamented the GOP’s leadership being “almost entirely white and overwhelmingly male” and claimed the party doesn’t “make a secret of its fear that demographic shifts and cultural convulsions could jeopardize its grip on power.”

The story also highlighted the vital role male voters will play in the November midterm elections, as a seat on the Supreme Court hangs in the balance.

“The rallying cry was Kavanaugh’s enraged plea of innocence before the Senate Judiciary Committee,” the article continues. “Kavanaugh’s defenders, reflecting widespread feelings among conservatives nationally, are furious about what they see as a broad-brush approach to sexual misconduct allegations.”

WaPo cited media personalities Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro for coming to the defense of men and for highlighting the country’s movement towards radical feminism.

“Inside the conservative movement and on its fringes, an intense discussion has long been underway about gender and the perceived assault on men,” the story reads. “Beyond Shapiro, University of Toronto clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson has drawn thousands of young conservative men to his lectures across the United States, railing against the effects of feminism and urging men to speak up for themselves.”

“Some conservative women also have joined the chorus of outrage over what they see as the encroachment of liberal feminism into American life,” the authors concluded.

WaPo is not the only media outlet to comment on the trials of white men in America this week.

CNN’s chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin mocked the “poor plight of white men,” on “New Day” Tuesday, after Donald Trump Jr. said he was afraid for his sons — after seeing how easily their lives can be destroyed.
