Today, October 4, is Alicia Silverstone’s birthday.
The San Francisco-born beauty turns 42 years old today and has packed in a massive career.
Born to British parents, Silverstone got her start in the 1993 film “The Crush,” but quickly gained recognition starring in the Aerosmith music video for “Cryin,” also released in 1993.
But Silverstone became a national sensation playing the role of Cher in the hit 1995 film “Clueless.” From there, she went on to earn a Golden Globe for the hit NBC series “Miss Match” in 2003.
Nowadays, Alicia has a family and focuses on healthy lifestyles and conscious living. She’s an outspoken vegan and PETA spokeswoman and spends most of her publicity working to advocate for animal rights. She was even voted the “Sexiest Female Vegetarian” by PETA in 2004.
Silverstone even dabbles in the democratic process. In 2004, she donated to Dennis Kucinich’s presidential campaign, and publicly supported both Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders in their runs for office.
