The Arizona Cardinals have earned the first pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
I use the term “earned” loosely because they got this honor after having the worst season in the entire league.

It’s actually absolutely fascinating that the Cardinals are in this position. Generally speaking, teams with the first pick are in search of a quarterback and gun for one in the draft.
However, the Cardinals just took Josh Rosen in the first round in 2018, and are extremely unlikely to draft another QB. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments From Week 15 Of The NFL Season)
If they did, the organization would essentially be tying up tens of millions of dollars in two guys and then only playing one. That obviously makes virtually no sense at all.

I think there’s a great chance they trade the pick away, drop several spots and load up on picks for the future.
That gives the team time to develop Rosen, and then still draw something else up with new draft picks if he doesn’t work out.
That’s a hell of a lot smarter than taking a quarterback in the first round two years in a row.

I can’t wait to see what happens, but I’m betting all my chips on the Cardinals trading this pick.
