Missouri State beat Illinois State late Sunday in one of the most chaotic endings we’ve ever seen in a college basketball game.

Missouri State was down by two with only a few seconds left. An Illinois State turnover created a massive scrum at half-court as the final seconds ticked away.

With no time to spare, Jarred Dixon heaved the ball from half-court, drilled the shot and MSU walked out with a 66-65 win. Check out the absolutely insane video below.

How did that happen? What in the world was Illinois State doing? First, they turn over the ball and then they allow MSU to launch it from half-court.

There were so many mistakes made during that chaos that it’s hard for me to comprehend what happened. If you’re playing for the Redbirds, why would you just throw the ball up as high as you could during that scrum? (RELATED: Wisconsin Beats Minnesota 56-51, Khalil Iverson Throws Down Two Huge Dunks)

If they’d done that, it would likely have burned the clock off. Instead, they let Missouri State hit a wild game-winning shot.

Good luck finding a wilder ending in college basketball anytime soon. It’s probably not going to happen.
