John Krasinski Reveals ‘A Quiet Place’ Sequel’s Release Date
John Krasinski is no longer keeping quiet about “A Quiet Place 2.”
The superstar announced via Instagram Friday that the sequel is coming to theaters on May 15, 2020.
Krasinski directed, wrote and starred in the first film, which scored an impressive 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and is up for an Oscar this Sunday for “Best Achievement in Sound Editing.” (RELATED: The New Preview For ‘A Quiet Place’ Is Awesome)
Krasinski starred in the acclaimed horror film alongside his wife, Emily Blunt, who just won the Screen Actors Guild Award for “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role” last month for her work in “A Quiet Place.”
Krasinski confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres in November that he is back on board as a writer for “A Quiet Place 2.” Sources are now saying he will be directing the sequel as well, according to Deadline Hollywood. The entertainment news outlet is also reporting that Blunt will be back to reprise her role.
The original “A Quiet Place” earned $50.3 million its opening weekend at the box office, we’ll have to wait a little more than a year to see if the sequel can top it.
