The people running the Alliance of American Football need to do whatever it takes to get Johnny Manziel into the league.
Johnny Football was effectively banned Wednesday from the Canadian Football League (CFL) after violating his contract with the league. It’s not clear at this time what he did, but the AAF needs to get him a deal immediately. The AAF is off to a very strong start when it comes to television ratings, and Manziel could take things to the next level.
He’s one of the most recognizable names in sports, he draws eyeballs and now he’s free to sign with a squad.
If the people running the Alliance of American Football don’t sign Manziel, then they have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.
In order for the league to work, they need established names to carry teams for TV reasons. The Texas A&M Heisman winner is more than a big enough name to get that done.
Unfortunately, as of right now, it sounds like the AAF hasn’t contacted Manziel. According to Darren Rovell, the league is “reviewing his contractual situation after being released by the Alouettes.”
The AAF hasn’t had contact with Johnny Manziel, but told they are reviewing his contractual situation after being released by the Alouettes today. His rights will revert to San Antonio (because of playing at Texas A&M). If they don’t want him, would be a free agent.

Do it, AAF. The games would become must-watch content immediately.
