Quarterback Alex Hornibrook visited Florida State on Friday.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported the following Friday on the former Wisconsin gunslinger:

Wisconsin grad transfer quarterback Alex Hornibrook is currently on campus at FSU for an official visit. He attended practice on Friday morning.

Hornibrook would have one year of eligibility left.

He’s thrown for 47 touchdowns with 33 interceptions and 5,438 total yards during his career.

He threw for 1,532 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in nine games in 2018.

This is actually extremely surprising to me. I didn’t think Hornibrook would land at a program the size of FSU after leaving Wisconsin.

I figured he’d end up on a solid team, but a traditional ACC powerhouse? No, I didn’t see that coming. Now, obviously, this doesn’t mean he’s locked into going to the Seminoles, but a visit to the campus is a pretty big sign he’s considering big time. As a massive Badger fan, I want nothing but the best for Hornibrook. Yes, we had issues down the stretch, but he was under center for a lot of wins.

No matter what caused him to leave the program, that fact won’t ever change. I would love nothing more than to see him to somewhere and tear it up for his final year.

I’d like to believe most other Badger fans are with me. I’m sure plenty aren’t, but there’s no point in wasting energy cheering against his success down the road.

If Hornibrook ends up in Tallahassee, then I wish him nothing but the best. As for us back in Madison, I think we’re going to be just fine with Graham Mertz.

You best believe that.
