Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly recently had a great line about the war against coronavirus.
Obviously, sports have come to a grinding halt in America amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and the future of football hangs in the balance. Yet, Kelly is out here dropping the motivational speech we need to win this war. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
“We have not won yet. We’re just getting to halftime. We have a second half to play here. Good job in the first couple quarters but we’re just getting into the locker room and if we have a better second half we’ll win this game,” Kelly said about the situation, according to Dan Wolken.
Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly on flattening the curve: “We have not won yet. we’re just getting to halftime. We have a second half to play here. Good job in the first couple quarters but we’re just getting into the locker room and if we have a better second half we’ll win this game.”

Is that Brian Kelly in there or is that Herb Brooks? I’m honestly not sure. Is that Brian Kelly or Coach Gaines in “Friday Night Lights”?
God bless all the football coaches out there. While people are searching for answers, Kelly is trying to give us the pump-up speech we need to win.
Look, we had a great solid first half. Coronavirus caught us by surprise early in the ball game, we bounced back, fought in the trenches, established the run, got our footing right, started moving the ball, but we’re far from the clock hitting zero.
Now, we need to hit the field hard in the second half. To paraphrase my favorite line in the history of football movies, we’re going to blitz the coronavirus all night.
We’re not giving up another damn yard in this fight!
We’re going to win this war, gentlemen. One way or another, we’re going to win this war.
