On today’s show, we discuss the hypocrisy of the father of the worldwide coronavirus lockdown breaking stay-at-home orders to have secret rendezvous with his married girlfriend. Plus, we get into two legal cases, one that illustrates how large state government power has grown and another that asks if there are any limits on it at all.

Listen to the show:

At the start of the pandemic, UK Dr. Neil Ferguson created a coronavirus model that predicted millions of deaths and caused panic that led to the shutting down of most of the world’s economy, a model he later revised, which lowered the number of projected deaths dramatically. A big proponent of stay-at-home orders, Ferguson allowed his married girlfriend to travel across London to visit him in his home on multiple occasions, leading to his resignation as an official advisor to the UK government. We discuss his hypocrisy and what it could reveal about what he really thinks about the lethality of the virus.

A judge in Texas sentenced a hairdresser who, in an attempt to avoid financial ruin of herself and her employees, reopened her salon in violation of a state order to stay closed. The woman, Shelley Luther, refused to bow to the judge and received 7 days in jail and thousands of dollars in fines. Luther refused to apologize for trying to take care of her family. We’re on the story.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court heard arguments against the state’s restrictive stay-at-home orders Tuesday. The case, brought by the state legislature, was argued via video chat and was eye-opening. Is it legal for a bureaucrat appointed by the governor to create law and impose punishments. The oral arguments were something to behold and we have them.
