Troy Aikman believes the Dallas Cowboys will end up paying Dak Prescott a ton of money.

The Cowboys and Prescott are in the process of trying to hammer out a long-term deal. Both sides have been in the same position they are now since last season, yet the legendary Cowboys quarterback thinks a deal will ultimately get done. Aikman, who won three Super Bowls playing for Dallas, told Sports Illustrated the following when discussing the Cowboys and their starting quarterback:

I love Dak Prescott. I love everything about him. … I’m not saying anything the Cowboys don’t already know. They will pay him, he’s going to make a lot of money, and I think he’s going to be the quarterback for the Cowboys for a long long time, and continue to have a great career.

As I’ve said before, I’m just blown away by this entire situation. I just don’t understand it at all. We’ve been talking about this for more than a year!

At some point, you’d imagine Jerry Jones would just draw a line in the sand. He has to make a final offer and then decide to move forward without Prescott if that’s what is necessary.

Yet, that’s not what’s happening at all. The Cowboys and Prescott have been going back and forth for more than a year, and we seem no closer to the conclusion.

If there was a person who would have inside information, it’d be Aikman. If he says Prescott will get paid, then you’d have to imagine that’s the case.

Then again, we’ve been watching this circus act unfold for so long.

Only time will tell what happens, but a decision needs to be made sooner than later. The Cowboys can’t be distracted by this forever.
