“Last Chance U” will only have one more season about football.

The official Twitter account for the hit Netflix series released a preview for season five Tuesday morning, and announced that it’d be the final season about junior college (JUCO) football. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Starting in 2021, the show will change to “Last Chance U: Basketball.”

The final season of football will follow Laney College in California when it’s released July 28.

You can watch a preview for season five below.

This honestly sucks. As someone who knows a lot about JUCO sports at the college level from my experience working in basketball at the D1 level, I can promise you JUCO basketball isn’t as fun as JUCO football.

You have a ton of super talented players in both sports, but there’s just something about JUCO football that makes it a different beast.

That’s been shown time and time again in “Last Chance U.” Cam Newton played JUCO football. You don’t see guys like that suiting up to play JUCO basketball.

Why is Netflix ending the series’ run as a show about football? Were people asking for basketball? Had people lost interest in football?

I find that to be incredibly hard to believe. I find that borderline impossible to believe.

It is what it is I suppose. We’ll just have to enjoy the final run of “Last Chance U” while we can. It truly is the perfect way to prepare for the season. It hits in the summer, it gets us ready to roll for the fall, and I can’t wait to see what we get in season five.
