C-SPAN placed its political editor Steve Scully on administrative leave last week after he admitted to lying about his Twitter feed being hacked when confronted about a tweet intended for former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci.

Scully was scheduled to moderate the second debate Oct. 15 between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, but the event was ultimately cancelled. He apologized for the false remarks in a statement and referred to the incident as “a moment of reflection and disappointment.”
