Each attack involved a blunt object and occurred between 5:30 and 11:30 p.m., according to the outlet.

“I have no idea why someone would do this, and it scares me. It really terrifies me,” Waltham resident Jackie Sol told the outlet.

“I walk my dog. He can be outside and hurt me,” said Cris Elias, also a Waltham resident.

One victim who lives at Gardencrest was smoking a cigarette by a dumpster next to the railroad tracks when he was assaulted, the outlet reported. The attacker also assaulted a mailman at the apartment complex.

Peter Faccenda, a Waltham resident who lives at Gardencrest, believed the attacker is hiding behind the dumpster before he attacks.

“It’s easy to hide in the track area or behind the dumpster and come out when someone is about to dump their trash,” he said.
