ESPN star Greg McElroy has tested positive for coronavirus.
The national champion quarterback with Alabama announced Tuesday night that he has tested positive and it sounds like he’ll no longer be on the call Wednesday for the Cotton Bowl between Oklahoma and Florida. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
He also announced that he’s feeling “good.”
This is my favorite week of the year. I was so excited to head home, to DFW, to call the @CottonBowlGame and then to be on the radio call for @rosebowlgame.
Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID.
I’m disappointed, but I feel good and hope to be back soon. Appreciate y’all!

The hits just keep coming with coronavirus. For those of you keeping track at home, two of ESPN’s biggest college football stars have now tested positive for coronavirus.
Kirk Herbstreit tested positive and now Greg McElroy has too. It’s a super unfortunate situation.

Hopefully, McElroy is back to 100% as quickly as possible. He sounds like he’s in high spirits, which is always a positive sign.
As much as the world might want to tell you otherwise, people are good.
The outpouring of support and well-wishes makes me so happy and borderline emotional. I love y’all.
Family is healthy and I’m bouncing back. Look forward to making a full recovery and seeing everyone ASAP.

Finally, I had the opportunity to meet McElory back when the XFL existed. He was an insanely chill guy, and an all-around class act.
