Meghan McCain lashed out at Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her a “Twitter troll come to life.”

McCain accused Greene of participating in “theatrics” rather than attempting to get along with colleagues on the other side of the aisle or make any real changes. Cohost Joy Behar began the segment by asking McCain whether she thought progress was even possible after Greene and other Republicans had voiced opposition to the Equality Act.

“Is the country ever going to make progress on these issues with people like Marjorie Taylor Greene in office, Meghan?” she asked.

“Look. Marjorie Taylor Greene is like a Twitter troll come to life,” McCain replied. “I hate theatrics in politics. I hate people that go to Congress and have no respect for their colleagues on the other side, and clearly don’t want to make any kind of real change.”

McCain went on to say that what made politics function was the ability of both parties to come together and meet in the middle, discuss things in committees and have conversations that could benefit all Americans.

“I think what’s so sad to see is we’re sitting in a place where people like Marjorie Taylor Greene are just doing it for the clicks, they’re not doing it for any other reasons. She has ostensibly no power in Congress anymore,” McCain continued, adding that a number of conservatives had been allies for the LGBTQ community and that was being overshadowed by political theater.

“It seems like we’re in a place where it doesn’t matter what good work is done by people like Adam Kinzinger, for example, who came out against Marjorie Taylor Greene … So it just is what it is. It’s horrible.”

“I don’t think she’s going anywhere in the party, frankly,” Behar replied. “I think she’ll be history before we know it.”
