Pippen wrote the following in part:

I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game. Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA.

This is obviously an incredibly tragic and sad situation for Pippen and his entire family. There’s really not too much that can be said.

Pippen didn’t announce the cause of death, but it doesn’t really matter at this point. A 33-year-old man is dead, and that’s almost always tragic.

I can’t imagine the pain a parent must feel when they bury a child. It has to be absolutely crushing on all levels, and something you always pray to avoid at all costs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pippen and his entire family during this incredibly tough time.
