The military’s top brass made headlines when they said diversity was “a readiness issue” — but they’re missing the mark. There are only three readiness issues: personnel, training and equipment.

Army Gen. Mark Milley spoke at Howard University’s ROTC commissioning ceremony, and told the newly-minted young officers that the military — across all branches — had more work ahead when it came to making sure that America’s fighting forces reflected those they defended.
