“The Forever Purge” looks like it’s going to be awesome.
Plot details for the fifth and final film in the iconic horror series aren’t really known on the web, but the trailer does provide a few clues. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)
It appears the purge doesn’t end as scheduled, and our main characters have to try to make a run for the border. Judging from the preview, this might be the best “Purge” film in a long time.

The “Purge” franchise really has been all over the place. The first two movies were outstanding. Both of them were grade-A low budget action/horror flicks.
Between the two originals, it’s hard to tell which one is better.
The third and fourth movies were both pretty damn awful. In fact, I’d even argue that the fourth one was borderline unwatchable.
It’s hard to understand how the series dropped off so fast and so badly.
Now, it looks like we’re trending upward again with “The Forever Purge,” and I’m here for it. There’s clearly going to be some political messaging in the film, but as long as it’s not too over-the-top, then we’ll live with it.
That was a major problem with the more recent movies. They were so bad in part because the politics involved were so unbelievably cringe.
It looks like “The Forever Purge” will avoid falling into that trap.

For those of you interested, you can catch “The Forever Purge” starting 4th of July weekend. Unlike the third and fourth movies in the series, this one looks like it’ll actually be good.
