BYU athletes are banned from signing endorsement deals involving coffee.

Yes, you read that correctly. While Alabama and other programs have put limits on endorsements, such as no porn or booze, BYU doesn’t want members of the Cougars tied to everyone’s favorite caffeinated drink! (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

According to Ryan McDonald, BYU sent out a list of restrictions Thursday morning following NIL becoming official, and coffee deals are listed right next to adult entertainment, gambling, tobacco and alcohol.

You can read the email below.

I know that a lot of BYU athletes are Mormons and I know that a ton of Mormons don’t consume caffeine. That’s their choice and that’s the freedom you have in America.

However, banning young men from coffee deals is so hysterical that it’s almost hard to believe it’s true. Imagine the AD standing in front of athletes and saying, “We won’t tolerate porn, booze, gambling or that dirty black water you call coffee.”

If you don’t find this funny, then you just don’t have a sense of humor. Never in my life did I think porn and coffee would be in the same category.

I hope more programs come up with interesting bans because I can’t get enough of this content. It’s awesome.
