Cincinnati football coach Luke Fickell has earned a huge honor.

The head coach of the Bearcats has been named the Home Depot Coach of the Year after leading Cincinnati to a 13-0 record, the AAC title and the first-ever G5 appearance in the playoff. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

It’s really hard to argue that any other coach deserves it more than Fickell does after the incredible run he had through the regular season.

In fact, I’d argue that there’s literally no other name that should even be even in the mix.

I might not like the fact that Cincy gets away with playing a much weaker schedule than the vast majority of P5 teams, but the Bearcats still took care of business.

They beat an 11-1 Notre Dame team, won the AAC and didn’t lose a game all season. They earned their spot in the playoff and Fickell led them all the way.

For that, he’s been honored as the Home Depot Coach of the Year.

Props to Fickell and the Bearcats. He deserves the honor and his team deserves the chance to play for a title.
