A Florida school district opened an investigation Thursday into a homework assignment that discusses former President Trump and media bias about the 2020 presidential election, according to WWSB News.

Manatee County School District in Manatee County, Florida, confirmed that a homework assignment titled “how does a historian work?” that discusses media bias and former President Trump in the 2020 election was given at Nolan Elementary School, according to WWSB News. The district announced Thursday they were investigating the assignment. (RELATED: ‘Find Another Job’: Oklahoma Officials Respond To Teacher Quitting Over CRT Ban)

“This homework assignment does not meet the expectations of the School District of Manatee County. A thorough review of future homework lessons in this course is taking place and remaining issues related to this assignment will be addressed,” Mike Barber, spokesperson for Manatee School District, said in a statement to WWSB News.

The assignment explains to students that bias enters the media followed by two statements, “President Trump made claims that the 2020 election was stolen,” and “President Trump made false claims that the 2020 election was stolen.”

“The first sentence is just giving you information, while the second sentence leads you to believe he is wrong before you have all the facts,” the assignment stated.

The assignment was first posted on Twitter by attorney Ron Filipkowski, before the school made a statement about it. The homework assignment was out of the book “Discovering Our Past – A History of the World Early Ages,”  by McGraw Hill, WWSB News reported.

Manatee County School District and Barber did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
