Kanye West has recently come under fire for his behavior and his once-successful career seems to be a thing of the past. He’s in good company, alongside a number of other polarizing celebrities that have crashed and burned.

West’s odd behavior and anti-Semitism were most recently on display during a livestream with Alex Jones of InfoWars. During the interview, Kanye told listeners that he liked Hitler and then launched into a prayer to Jesus Christ, which lasted for several minutes. West’s anti-Semitic remarks have led to major brands like Balenciaga and Adidas cutting tied with West, costing him his billionaire status.

West has taken toxicity to a whole new level, but he isn’t the only celebrity to become his own worst enemy.

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen earned millions for his lead role on “Two and a Half Men,” which mimicked his real lifestyle that was filled with casual sexual encounters and a partying. He earned over $2 million per episode, according to Deadline, but his excessive drug use, public criticism of director Chuck Lorre and bizarre behavior in the infamous 2011 “winning” interview led to his rapid downfall.

Britney Spears

Pop princess Britney Spears dominated the charts and sold out shows across the globe from the tender age of 16. She wasn’t just a musical artist, she was also an idol and pop icon for young girls around the world. The paparazzi were always at her heels, but by 2004 she was becoming famous for all the wrong reasons. Spears started losing control of her behavior and experiencing what many described as a mental breakdown. By the time 2007 rolled around, she shaved her head bald, grabbed an umbrella and took her rage out on a reporter’s car. She went on to lose custody of her two children and control of her own affairs, with her father appointed to a conservatorship. Spears was emancipated in 2021, and released an instantly viral song with Elton John. Despite her newfound freedom, Spears continues to post nude photos to her Instagram account and remains embroiled in family drama.

Ezra Miller

Ezra Miller gained worldwide notoriety as a successful actor, starring in “The Flash”, “Justice League” and other films and television shows. The actor has since been arrested for disorderly conduct, been accused of housing a woman and her child in an unsafe environment and pleaded guilty to burglary charges in Vermont, according to People. Miller admits to having “complex mental issues,” and is currently facing several legal battles.

Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson was one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood with a series of blockbuster hits under his belt, including “Braveheart,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Mad Max” and “The Patriot.” Everything changed in 2006 when he was arrested for driving under the influence, and was recorded making anti-Semitic remarks. “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!” Gibson said, according to transcripts of his arrest warrant. A leaked voicemail recording of his racist and sexist rant against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva also damaged his public image. In recent year’s he’s made a successful comeback and even snagged an Oscar nomination for directing 2016’s “Hacksaw Ridge.”

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan found early success as a child actress in Disney’s “The Parent Trap” and went on to star in a succession of successful movies and shows. She quickly acquired a reputation as a party-girl and spiraled out of control as a result of drug and alcohol addiction. The starlet was in and out of rehab for years, and things got even worse when she was accused of felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store in 2011, according to HuffPost. She attempted a comeback in 2021, but hasn’t been embraced by fans.

Madonna

Madonna is undeniably a true music legend, and her iconic status earned her fans of all ages all across the globe. She was never afraid to push the envelope and constantly topped the music charts with hit after hit. It would be a challenge to find anyone who wasn’t familiar with her epic tunes. She was confident about exploring her own sexuality in the public sphere, and did so with her own signature style. These days, the very thing that made her famous is getting her in trouble with fans. The 64-year-old continues to post provocative images and has engaged in bizarre online behavior. Fans are calling for her to cover up and act her age, telling the star she’s well past her prime. Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown’s success in the NFL was overshadowed by his lack of interest in being a team player. After believing he could pick and choose which practices he felt like participating in, he lost his position with the Steelers. In 2019, he faced sexual assault charges and then had to contend with a felony charge of burglary and battery following an incident with a moving truck driver. Even after being sentences to probation and mandatory anger management, he still couldn’t remain on his best behavior, and got busted for criminal mischief and for lying about his vaccination status.

OJ Simpson

OJ Simpson’s football career was on fire. He was named NFL Player of the Year in 1972, 1973 and 1975 and continued to soar and collect various awards. All that success disappeared when he was infamously filmed driving his Ford Bronco in the world’s sketchiest slow-speed chase following the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. He somehow beat the murder charges in that case but got a “go straight to jail” card for his involvement in a 2007 robbery.

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf had a brilliant career before he started on a two-decade-long slide that was riddled with numerous criminal charges and incidents of bizarre behavior. In 2020, he was accused of petty theft after allegedly stealing a man’s hat. His ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs then accused him of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress, according to Page Six. He also had a drunk driving meltdown and a series of arrests for various types of disturbances and theft. He became his own worst enemy and is currently trying to crawl out of his legal woes and issues with addiction to turn over a new leaf. In an August interview, he discussed his conversion to Catholicism, which he said came after he realized the depths of his own dysfunction.

Chris Brown

Chris Brown and Rihanna were a musical power couple. They were each talented on their own, and together, they formed a celebrity pair everyone admired. That is, until Brown became abusive. The two got into an altercation in Brown’s car, and despite being the driver, Brown managed to bash Rihanna’s head into the side of the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face until she was bruised, battered and bloodied. The world will forever see him as an abuser, no matter what sort of musical success he sees in his lifetime. At the 2022 American Music Awards, the crowd booed when Brown was announced as the Favorite Male R&B artist, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby was everyone’s favorite dad. He played the role of Dr. Huxtable on “The Cosby Show,” and for decades he emulated a fatherly figure to absolute perfection. His Jello commercial showed just how great he was with children, and the world looked up to him and admired him for both his on-screen and off-screen personas. That changed quickly when he was accused of raping, drugging or groping 60 different women over the course of several decades. The disgraced actor served three years in prison and was released in 2021.
