Sony released the highly anticipated trailer for “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” on Tuesday and fans are already at the edge of their seats.

The trailer picks up where the 2018 masterpiece “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” left off, and based on the teaser clip that has been offered so far, it looks like this film is going to be well worth the wait. The trailer promises a multi-dimensional Spider-Man story and packs brilliant animation and action-adventure all into a two minute and 11-second video that leaves fans wanting even more.

The movie is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, and was written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, according to the video’s description. It features the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Daniel Kaluuya, and Issa Rae, to name a few.

The trailer video gives eager fans an opportunity to catch a glimpse at Issa Rae’s Spider-Woman and teases a cameo from Stan Lee. Audiences are able to catch a glimpse of the chaotic journey of Miles Morale (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) as they immerse themselves in the multi-verse. The video shows the dynamic duo’s interactions with other spider-people, including the Spider-Man from the PlayStation game. The bright colors leap off the screen in a perfect array of tantalizing scenes that flash back to the original series.

Notably missing from the trailer are visuals of The Spot, a villain made up of inter-dimensional portals, and Spider-Punk. Fans will have to stay tuned for more sneak peeks if they want to see more.

“Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” is slated for worldwide release June 2, 2023.
