A Twitter user went viral Wednesday after noting the physical similarities between Republican New York Rep.-Elect George Santos and a character from the HBO series “Veep.”

Santos has made many headlines after he admitted to lying about his educational and professional background while campaigning for his position. He’s also become the butt of many jokes on social media, some over his appearance, some over his admitted lies.

“It took me forever to realize who George Santos reminds me of,” a user wrote in one of the more popular posts making the comparison. “Congressman Furlong’s aide Will from ‘Veep’.” The series, which ran from 2012 to 2019, follows the fictional life of America’s Vice President in her grim bid for power.

Will, the character compared to Santos, is arguably the most pathetic on the show. His entire storyline revolves around him being verbally and emotionally abused by the revolting fictional Congressman Furlong, to the point where he chimes in and says horrendous things about himself.

Another user shared a side-by-side comparison of the two, and it’s hard to not see the similarities. (RELATED: Wait, Who TF Does This Guy Think He Is?)

Santos is not the only politician to draw comparisons from the show. Vice President Kamala Harris has been repeatedly compared to the sad, power-obsessed, monster that is the show’s own Veep, played by Julia Louis Drefus.
