Jennifer Lopez recently claimed she was supposed to be part of the infamous 2003 MTV VMA kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears.

The bold, on-stage kiss between Madonna, Spears and Aguilera packed big shock value and instantly went viral. The ladies engaged in sultry dance moves and suggestive choreography  during the lead-up to the kiss.

Lopez said in an interview published Tuesday that she was supposed to be the one locking lips with Madonna and Spears. “I was filming a movie in Canada, and we had met — me, her and Britney — to do it at her home,” Lopez told Ok Magazine. “And then, I just couldn’t get off the film, and so, we couldn’t do it.”

Lopez made the revelation in tandem with the release of her movie “Shotgun Wedding,” and left fans wondering how dramatically different the moment would have been if it went ahead in the manner that Lopez said it was rehearsed. In the interview, the pop star reminisced about the scene and insists she was supposed to be part of that moment.

“We had talked about it,” 53-year-old Lopez told OK Magazine. “I love Madonna. I’m a huge fan. I always have been.” (RELATED: Madonna Rings In Her 64th Birthday By Making Out With Two Women)
