What an insane season of college basketball it’s been.

No. 1 Alabama suffered a 68-59 upset Feb. 15 to No. 10 Tennessee, becoming the most recent top-ranked team to lose in a season that’s been absolutely crazy so far, and looks to be staying that way as we head into March. The Crimson Tide’s Wednesday loss is the eighth defeat a No. 1 squad has been hit with in the campaign, which ties the record set back in the 1993-94 regular season, according to Stats Perform.

Four teams have held the top ranking in the 2022-23 season — Alabama, North Carolina, Houston, Purdue — with none of them being able to hold the spot for a substantial amount of time.

The No. 1 losses this season (so far) are:

  • Nov. 25: UNC to Iowa State
  • Nov. 27: UNC to Alabama
  • Dec. 10: Houston to Alabama
  • Jan. 2: Purdue to Rutgers
  • Jan. 22: Houston to Temple
  • Feb. 4: Purdue to Indiana
  • Feb. 12: Purdue to Northwestern
  • Feb. 15: Alabama to Tennessee

Just utter insanity.

In fact, the 2022-23 season has been so crazy that I’ve been ready for March Madness to start and to fill out my bracket since January. You guys know how much I love crash content, so this campaign has definitely been up my alley.

Here’s the thing, though: When the time does come to fill out our brackets, who the hell do you pick?

Here is the current top 10 as it stands Feb. 16:

  1. Alabama (22-3)
  2. Houston (23-2)
  3. Purdue (23-3)
  4. UCLA (21-4)
  5. Kansas (20-5)
  6. Texas (20-5)
  7. Virginia (19-4)
  8. Arizona (22-4)
  9. Baylor (19-6)
  10. Tennessee (19-6)

Things are wide open — so wide open that plenty of brackets are going to be busted. But holy hell, you know the entertainment value is going to be out of this world. (RELATED: University Of Pittsburgh Student Earns One Year Of Free Rent After Hitting Crazy Basketball Shot)

Damn, I love March Madness.
