Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller, who allegedly provided the gun in the murder of a young woman last month, had a career high 41-point performance Wednesday night against South Carolina.
Miller is seen blowing by his defender with a crossover before making the game winning layup with 0.8 seconds left to play to secure Alabama the victory.

The fans in attendance at Colonial Life Arena booed Miller every time he touched the basketball and were heard chanting “lock him up” towards the controversial athlete at one point in the game.

The crowd may have ignited Miller’s career night but it’s hard to blame them for booing him as hard as they did. Quite frankly, it’s astonishing that the University of Alabama is even allowing Miller to play.
Branden Culpepper, who is a detective with the Tuscaloosa police, testified Tuesday to confirm that Miller provided the handgun that his now-former teammate Darius Miles used to murder 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris on the morning of January 15th, after Miles asked Miller to provide him with the weapon via text messages, according to ESPN. The text messages revealed in court showed that Miles asked Miller prior to the murder of Jamea Jonae Harris to facilitate him his gun after feeling threatened, according to WVTM 13.
Prior to tip-off, the Alabama athletic department declared that Miller would remain a member of their basketball team despite his involvement in the crime for not being “considered a suspect in this case,” and being “only a cooperative witness.”
Being how Miller is a star athlete, I can’t help but to believe that he’s being protected by the school due to his basketball skills. The fact that he’s still a student on campus at the University of Alabama and is an eligible player for their basketball team is sickening.
I wholeheartedly believe that President of the University of Alabama Dr. Stuart R. Bell, the athletic director Greg Byrne, and the entire coaching staff of the men’s basketball team at Alabama should be fired from their jobs. Allowing a student athlete to remain a member of the school after reportedly supplying a murder weapon off to somebody is setting a bad precedent to say the least. The President, the athletic director, and the coaching staff are clearly unfit to continue to serve. They don’t seem to care that he’s connected to a murder case.
Hopefully, the school does the right thing and cuts ties with Miller soon. I wouldn’t want a guy connected to a murder playing for my team regardless of how good he may be at ball.
