University of Alabama college basketball freshman star Brandon Miller provided his teammate Darius Miles the gun that killed a woman in a January shooting, according to local police in Tuscaloosa.
Brandon Culpepper, a Tuscaloosa detective, testified Feb. 21 during a preliminary hearing for Miles and Michael Lynn Davis, who have both been charged with capital murder of Harris after he was shot and killed Jan. 15 near campus. Culpepper said that Miller brought the gun to Miles that he used to kill 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris — this after Miles allegedly texted Miller to do so.
Miles, who was removed from the Crimson Tide program, said that he was the one who provided the gun in the shooting, but it was Davis who fired the weapon to kill Harris, according to a court document.

Culpepper said Feb. 21 that Miles let Davis know where the gun was in Miller’s vehicle.
For Miller, he hasn’t been charged with a crime, with Tuscaloosa chief deputy district attorney Paul Whitley telling AL.com Feb. 21 that “there’s nothing we could charge [Miller] with.” Nate Oats, the head coach of Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball, said in a Feb. 21 news conference that the program has been made aware of Miller’s alleged connection.
