Famous actor Austin Butler, best known for portraying Elvis Presley in the film “Elvis,” recalled being hospitalized with a horrifying medical condition immediately after he completed shooting on-set for the movie.

“I didn’t get sick the entire time I filmed [Elvis] but the day I finished, I ended up in the emergency room,” Butler said to People. He opened up about the way his body simply gave out as soon as he wrapped his work on the biopic. “The next day I woke up at four in the morning with excruciating pain, and I was rushed to hospital,” Butler said to GQ at the time of the incident.

Butler explained that he had put all his energy into the movie and was finally at the stage where his time on the set of “Elvis” had concluded and he could enjoy a few days off before his grueling work schedule kicked in again.

“I had a week of downtime, where I actually ended up in the hospital,” Butler told People.

The demands on his time were not, however, forgiving of his medical situation.

“So I spent a week in bed and then I went to this other job,” Butler said. (RELATED: Gigi Hadid Details The Crippling Illness That Affects Every Aspect Of Her Life)

“My body just started shutting down the day after I finished Elvis,” Butler said.

The famous actor was diagnosed with a virus that simulates appendicitis and he required several days of bed rest to recover, according to People.

Despite pushing his body to the limits and suffering a medical setback, Butler referenced his time working on “Elvis” as being  “the greatest ride of my life.”
